OKR Setup


  1. Objectives Setup
    1. Go to OKR—>Check-Ins

    2. Click on Add Objective button on the top right corner

    3. Enter the Objective name in the text box "Describe your objective..." field

    4. Details Section

      1. Select start date and completion date for your objective

        The default values for the dates would be the from and to dates of your OKR Cycle.

      2. Select Category from the dropdown list. If the Objective category selected is Team, select a team name from the list of team available.

      3. Select Type from the dropdown list. Objective types are Committed and Aspirational.

      4. Click on Owner field and select a name if you are creating an objective for your team member

      5. Choose from an existing tag or create a new tag for your


    5. Progress Section

      1. Enter how you wish to measure the progress against your objective. For example, Achieve 100% revenue growth over previous quarter

      2. Select a measure from the dropdown list.

        Check out the info icon for each type of the measure to know which type of measure to be used. For example, if your objective is "Increase Sales by 20%", use Enhance type i.e. when you wish to improve an existing value in a positive way.

      3. Enter the target value for your metric. For example, 80% to 100% (or) 0 to 100%

      4. Auto-roll up - By default the tool calculates the progress against an objective based on the average progress of all key results within that objective. Uncheck the box if you wish to manually update the progress against an objective

      5. Click on Save button

    6. Alignment Section

      1. Click on the Align link on the right corner
      2. Search by Category, Owner or Team for the Objective or Key Result with which you want align
      3. Click on the Objective or Key Result from the list shown to align
      4. Click on Save button
  2. Key Results Setup
    1. Go to OKR—>Check-Ins

    2. Click on the Actions menu against the objective

    3. Click on +Add Key Result link


    4. Enter the Key Results name in the text box "Describe your key result..." field

    5. Progress Section

      1. Enter how you wish to measure the progress against your key result. For example, Add 30 to 50 net new SQLs in this quarter

      2. Select a measure from the dropdown list.

        Check out the info icon for each type of the measure to know which type of measure to be used. For example, if your objective is "Increase Sales by 20%", use Enhance type i.e. when you wish to improve an existing value in a positive way.

      5. Click on Save button

    6. Edit Alignment Section

      1. By default a Key Result is aligned with the Objective under which it is created
      2. Auto-roll up - By default the tool calculates the progress against an objective based on the average progress of all key results within that objective. Uncheck the box if you do not want the progress of the key result to automatically contribute to progress of the parent objective.
      3. Click on the Edit link on the right corner
      4. Search by Category, Owner or Team for the Objective or Key Result with which you want align
      5. Click on the Objective or Key Result from the list shown to align
      6. Click on Save button
  3. Copy Objective
    1. You can create a new objective or copy an objective from previous cycle
    2. Select the button Copy objective on the check-ins page under OKR menu
    3. Select the cycle and objective from which you want to copy the objectives for the current cycle.
    4. Click on the Copy button to add the selected objective into your current cycle.
